We started our ride about 9:30 and stopped for lunch about 12:00. It was a great little cafe in Pilot Grove. Then after a really nice outdoor lunch with fellow riders we started out again. We didn't get far and it started to sprinkle. The nice thing about e-bikes; we can really speed up if we have to. So we amped it up a bit and were the first in. Got one of the rooms that was ready and on the first floor. "Get there first" always a good motto.
We're staying in a casino in Boonesville so we thought we would do a little gambling. We were able to obtain one free play $10 Caesar's reward card. We totally failed at using it. Dennis kept inserting it and then we were at a loss. Couldn't figure out what to do next. There were no prompts. The worst part. Everyone in the casino smoked and there were ashtrays everywhere. So we cut our losses and went up in the room to play some on-line bridge.
I have to say that I was a little leery of riding with a group and being supported on a time schedule (sort of) but it turns out that everyone has an interesting story. I have really enjoyed getting to know them. Our leader, Debbie is just super, wonderfully patient and well prepared. The level of biking experience is pretty incredible for people our age. We're actually the oldest, well, Dennis is anyway. But just about everyone is an experienced biker.
The waffles were great this morning!!!
