The street light is straight.  The little 5 foot wide house directly behind the light is the smallest house in Amsterdam, only 2 floors and only 5 feet wide.

Dennis's photo of me taking a photo of "the dancing sisters".  The end houses look to be leaning toward the open alleys.  These homes have been here for many years but a good many of them are very tipsy.

Weesperbuurt-Amsterdam A very moving memorial of names Jewish, Senti and Roma who had not been given a proper burial during and after World War II.  There are 102,000 names.  This photo doesn't do it justice.

  DAY 7  July 14. Green Bay WI Today was one of our longer drives.  It took us 4 1/2 hours to drive from St Ignace around the top of Michigan on Lake Michigan's shore line.  It was an interesting drive, a few really nice houses on the water  and so many trees!!  Sometimes they form a wall which looks impenetrable.  They changed in density once we hit Wisconsin.   We were able to check into the Hampton Inn at noon so we did and immediately went for a bike ride on the Fox River Trail which stayed paved for 11 miles and then changed to crushed stone.  The top photo expresses city pride.  They have a very nice waterfront area, bars and restaurants and lots of condos. right on the trail.  We rode through some neighborhoods of million dollar homes complete with tennis courts overlooking the river and some condos and townhouses, a real mix.  Outside of the city limits the trail left the river and passed by some big farms.  At mil...

  JULY 13, 2025--Cincinnati (Melody's birthday) Happy birthday, Melody!!  She's in Hawaii with Jared and family enjoying the wonderful weather there. Dennis and I arrived in Cincinnati around 2:30 and parked next to the stadium where there was a Red's game in progress. They beat Colorado 4 to 2.  Expensive parking but very convenient. Cincinnati is a lovely city fully embracing the Ohio River waterfront with beautiful parks and neighborhoods.  This is what Sangria looks like in Kentucky (I guess) Cincinnati skyline with Reds Stadium in the forefront The aquarium a paddle boat on the Ohio River This boundary line appears on the "Purple People" bridge as it crosses the Ohio River In the late 1800's Cincinnati was a big pork processing center. We're looking in a mirror which makes us look wider.  (a lot wider!) Same mirror.  It was a huge sculpture on the river trail.

MONDAY    JULY 14 Yellow Springs Sorry to say we did not see one thing that we deemed photo worthy. We rode 49 miles on the Miami River trail or what we thought was the Miami River trail but took an unmarked trail out of Xenia and ended up in Cedarville.  So we backtracked to Xenia for lunch, rode back to the car and drove to Yellow Springs, a cute little artsy town but not really photo worthy.   Still a good ride.  More tomorrow, hopefully with some photos.
